Dear Members:
I’m very honored to have been elected as your President by your Board and I look forward to converting my many years of experience on the Board as Treasurer into a positive force for moving TriNB forward in 2012. This year we have an excellent Board thanks to the great efforts of past president Scott MacKenzie who has retired to become an athlete again and more importantly spend time with his wife and young family and the responsibilities of his job. Scott will stay on the Board as a Director and continue to provide valuable input.
I believe we have a very exciting year ahead with a concentrated focus on building our Junior Team and preparing them for the Canada Games in 2013. This effort is being lead by Jon Tracy , the Provincial Coach, who has been joined by Jeannie MacDonald, the new Team Manager. Jon and Jeannie will be offering a number of clinics and planning away trips that will include a few of the National events for the 16 and older juniors. Gina Spear-Burrows will be leading the charge for the Kids of Steel program this year. The KOS events are the foundation of any junior program so expect to see a full schedule this summer under Gina’s guidance.

Earl Burrows, the vice president, will take us through a Strategic Plan review process that will set the course for TriNB for the next few years. This will be shared with you as it gets developed and finalized. New Board member Phillip McGee will head the social media area while the vast experience of Marilynn Georgas will be applied to her role as Chief Official and Sanctioning co-ordinator. Director Mark McGraw, will be in charge of expanding the Clubs throughout the Province. Richard Isnor is stepping up from Director at Large to fill my old role as Treasurer and rounding out the Board is Reid Burrows who will be a Director bringing the perspective of the young to the table. Anyone of these Board members may call upon you to help them deliver their objectives so please be as generous with your time as these fine folks are.
Of course I would be remiss not to mention Garth Millar in his position as Executive Director who along with his many behind the scene administrative talents, ensures that every race in the East Coast Subaru Series is supported with the equipment necessary for the events to be successful. Garth has great support as well from his wife Helena.
And finally, we would not be able to present to you the quality events that we do without the sponsorship of Subaru and the Province of NB whose support will only continue to grow as this great sport of Triathlon continues its upward trends in New Brunswick.
See you at the races and have a safe and fun summer.
Paul
President
