This is an incredibly unique opportunity to race on a completely traffic-free course at Saint John Airport on the newly resurfaced runways, probably the fastest and smoothest surface you will ever ride on.
We will be offering 3 races on race day, our traditional Running Race and a Duathlon which will comprise a Sprint and Super Sprint race. All events will take place on Sunday 24 May from 11.00am and will offer 2 distances;
Race 1 – Super Sprint Duathlon – 2.5k run – 8.5k bike – 2.5k run
Race 2 – Sprint Duathlon – 5k run – 17k bike – 2.5k run
Course Description for both Super Sprint & Sprint Duathlon.
Run 1 – out and back on the airport service road adjacent to the runway.
Bike – using the newly resurfaced runways at Saint John we ride 1 full loop of the runways for the SuperSprint and 2 full laps for the Sprint.
Run 2 – out and back on the airport service road adjacent to the runway.
Due to the length and width of the runways, there will be no tight turns. The course is fast, flowing and non-technical.
Race 3 – 6k Running Race – After a year off for runway reconstruction and airport upgrades we are back for our 9th Saint John Airport Race – this time a 6k* run using the newly constructed roads around the airport and the newly resurfaced runways. This is a brand new course for 2020 and will give you a different perspective of our wonderful local airport.
Latest News – Everyone racing with us will receive a Free 3 Day Pass* to the 3 YMCA locations in Greater Saint John.
